Johann Jones

Johann Jones has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Johann currently holds the position of Head of Safety & Sustainability at Tourlane since October 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Trust & Safety with the same company from February 2019 to October 2019.

Before joining Tourlane, Johann worked at Management Systems International, starting in 2013. During their time there, they held the position of Director of Global Safety & Security from April 2014 to January 2019. In this role, they focused on risk mitigation for headquarters and field office projects in various high and extreme-risk countries. Johann also managed safety and security budget, procurement, insurance expenses, and travel budget. Additionally, they designed and delivered training programs for staff across all divisions and countries.

From 2009 to 2016, Johann worked for the UK Government's Stabilisation Unit. Their roles included being a Deployable Civilian Expert, Senior Stabilisation Advisor, and Team Leader. Other notable work experiences include being a Senior Advisor to the CEO at Al-Anwar Group, Senior Ministerial Advisor at Coffey International Ltd, Independent Consultant at the United States Department of Defense, and Director of the Private Security Company Association of Iraq.

Johann also worked at the United States Department of Defense/State as Director of Finance & Contracting. Their earliest work experience was at Toyota Motor Europe, where they held the position of Specialist - Corporate Planning.

Johann Jones completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management from 2001 to 2002. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Arabic & Economics from the University of St Andrews from 1997 to 2001. In 2001, they also received a Diplôme d'études en langue française from Institut de Touraine, focusing on French language. In 2000, Johann obtained a diploma in Modern, Media, and Colloquial Arabic from The American University in Cairo. Johann has also obtained additional certifications, including "A Manager's Guide to Inclusive Teams," "Becoming an Impactful and Influential Leader," and "Supporting Allyship and Anti-Racism at Work" through LinkedIn in 2021.
