Chief Legislative Aide at Town of Brookhaven

Amani H. has a diverse work experience history. They began working as an intern at the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in the Domestic Violence Unit in 2019. They also volunteered as a campaign volunteer for various political campaigns within the Brookhaven area, holding positions such as campaign manager, field director, and intern. Amani H. then worked as an intern for the Town of Brookhaven, Council District 1, attending events and meetings on behalf of the office and creating a website for the Drug Prevention Coalition. They also served as the Leadership Program Coordinator for the Islamic Association of Long Island from 2018 to 2020. In 2020, Amani H. became the Director of Government Affairs for the Long Island Builders Institute before transitioning to their current role as Chief Legislative Aide for the Town of Brookhaven. Additionally, they took on the role of Youth Group Coordinator for the Islamic Association of Long Island's Muslim Girls Youth Group, facilitating weekly group work and organizing charitable events.
