Feng Y.

Feng Y. has a wide range of work experience in various roles and organizations. Most recently, they have been serving as the Chief Information Officer for the Town of Brookline Massachusetts since April 2021. Prior to this position, they held the role of Acting CIO/Director of Digital Services from March 2020 to April 2021. They have also worked as the Director of IT Applications for the Town of Brookline Massachusetts from July 2007 to March 2020, and as the GIS Manager from April 1996 to July 2007. In addition to their roles in the Town of Brookline, Feng Y. has served as the President of the New England Chapter of Urban & Regional Information Systems Association (NEURISA) in 2011. They have also worked as an Instructor for Northeastern University CPS in 2006 and as an Adjunct Faculty for the University of Massachusetts/Boston from 1996 to 2006. Furthermore, Feng Y. has served as a Board Member for the Northeast Arc Users Group from November 1999 to October 2001. They have also authored the ESRI Virtual Campus Course - GIS Applications for Tax Assessors in 2001. Overall, Feng Y. has a diverse background in IT and GIS management, with a focus on public administration.

Feng Y. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Urban Planning & Economic Geography from Peking University between 1985 and 1990. Later, from 1991 to 1996, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information Systems at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Feng Y. also completed a Certificate program in Enterprise Cybersecurity Leadership from the Professional Development Academy prior to 2021. In the same year, they obtained a Certificate in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age from HarvardX. Currently, Feng Y. is attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to complete the Certified Government CIO Program at the School of Government, with an expected completion in 2022.
