Sean Maroney is a seasoned marketing strategist and communications professional with extensive experience in both nonprofit and media sectors. Currently serving as a Marketing Strategist for the Town of Cary since December 2023, Sean is responsible for leading strategic marketing initiatives to enhance the town's brand on national and international stages. Previous roles include Senior Vice President at the Lotus Campaign, where Sean launched national fundraising initiatives, and Vice President of Resource Development at Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, overseeing significant revenue streams and managing a fundraising team. Sean's media career includes positions as an Evening Anchor and Reporter for Nexstar Media Group and as Islamabad Bureau Chief for Voice of America, covering major international news. Sean holds dual degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has also studied at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara.
