Yang Song

Yang Song, PhD PE PMP, currently serves as Utilities Project Manager for the Town of Cary since February 2022, overseeing project management, design, and construction of various water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Prior to this role, Yang was a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech from August 2017 to December 2021, managing a National Science Foundation project on antimicrobial properties of copper and conducting field sampling related to water quality. Previous experience includes working as an Engineering Support at Highfill Infrastructure Engineering, contributing engineer for the NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and environmental engineering intern at Delhi Charter Township. Yang holds a Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, a Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Dalian University of Technology.
