Gabi Boerkircher

Gabi Boerkircher has diverse work experience in the field of communications and community engagement. Gabi is currently the Director of Communications & Community Engagement for the Town of Erie, where they have established a new communications department and focuses on using innovative strategies to connect and engage with the local community. In this role, they work closely with the Board of Trustees, residents, business leaders, and other important stakeholders to collaborate on public projects. Gabi also manages the staffing, budget, and physical/virtual space for their team.

Prior to their current position, Gabi worked as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for Boulder County from 2013 to 2021. In this role, they were responsible for all marketing and communication efforts related to Boulder County, including press releases, social media management, video production, email blasts, website updating, and traditional advertising. Gabi also taught Media Relations and Writing classes for current employees.

Earlier in their career, Gabi worked as a News Designer for Prairie Mountain Publishing from 2011 to 2013. Their responsibilities included layout and design for four local daily newspapers. Gabi wrote headlines, edited art, edited and trimmed copy, posted stories and art to the website, and ensured timely delivery to the printing press. Unfortunately, their position was eliminated due to downsizing in 2013.
