Joan Christensen

Joan Christensen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community consulting and public service. Currently serving as a Councillor for Ward 4 in the Town of Fort Erie since November 2022, Joan has also been the Owner and Principal Consultant at Christensen Community Consulting since February 1992, leading numerous initiatives in health services and community development. Previous roles include Senior Policy Advisor for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, where Joan directed evaluations in primary health care and contributed to critical mental health strategies, and Vice President of Community Services at Better Living Health and Community Services, overseeing operations and financial management. Additionally, Joan has held key leadership positions such as Executive Director of the Coalition of Ontario Voluntary Organizations and Director of Policy and Community Development for York Region. Joan's educational background includes a Master of Environmental Studies from York University and various certifications in strategic planning and education.
