David Moore, CSP, currently serves as the Safety and Risk Coordinator for the Town of Huntersville since October 2023. Prior to this role, David was the Emergency Operations Center Specialist at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from March 2021 to June 2023. David also worked as a Risk and Fire Safety Specialist for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools between October 2018 and March 2021. Before transitioning to educational and municipal roles, David dedicated nearly three decades to the Charlotte Fire Department, culminating in the position of Battalion Chief before retirement in October 2018. David holds a Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The Town of Huntersville is one of the fastest growing communities in North Carolina with a population of over 60,000. Huntersville is an excellent place to live, work and play. The town is a residential destination for many families, boasts excellent shopping centers, first rate medical and recreation amenities, and continues to attract new industry to the area. In addition, Huntersville’s location in the larger metropolitan area provides easy access to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, professional sports venues, outstanding arts and cultural opportunities, many race headquarters and tracks, and access to Lake Norman. The town was incorporated in 1873 and operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The Town Board of Commissioners consists of a mayor and six commissioners. The Town has 180 plus employees working in six departments: Administration/Finance, Engineering, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Police. In addition, the town works closely with the volunteer fire department (Huntersville Fire), the regional economic development agency (Lake Norman Economic Development), and two enterprise funded organizations (Electricities and Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics).
