Daniel Dow has a comprehensive work experience in the field of fire and emergency services. Daniel started their career in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist from August 1987 to October 1991. Daniel then worked as a Crash/Rescue Firefighter at Pease Air National Guard Base from November 1991 to January 1993. After that, they served as a Crash/Rescue Firefighter at Naval Air Station South Weymouth MA from September 1993 to April 1995. In 1995, Daniel joined the Town of Natick, where they held various roles including Firefighter/EMT, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and Deputy Fire Chief. In their role as Deputy Fire Chief, they were involved in multiple responsibilities such as being a member of the West Natick Fire Station Building Committee, Shift Commander, Chairman of the Local Emergency Planning Committee, Senior Member of the Natick Mall Exercise Planning Committee, Natick Fire Liaison to the Natick Public Safety Communications Center, and Boston Marathon coordinator for Natick Fire. Throughout their career, Daniel showed strong leadership skills and a commitment to ensuring public safety.

Daniel Dow attended Providence College from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Fire Science. From 2004 to 2008, they studied at Framingham State University and obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Public Administration. In 2013, they attended the National Fire Academy and received an Executive Fire Officer Designation (EFO).
