Matt Swaney

Matt Swaney has extensive experience in emergency services and media, currently serving as the Public Information Officer and Fire Inspector for the Normal Fire Department since May 2010. Additionally, Matt has worked as a firefighter for the El Paso Fire Protection District since August 2017 and previously at the Carlock Fire Protection District from 2000 to 2015. Matt also owned SirenWorld, LLC, a distributor of emergency equipment, until March 2023. Past roles include industrial firefighter at Mapleton Foundry for Caterpillar, Inc., and on-air talent for Connoisseur Media and Regent Broadcasting, focusing on news, weather, and creative services. Educational background includes attendance at Normal Community West High School and Central Catholic High School.
