Mario Canizares

Mario Canizares is an experienced municipal leader currently serving as the Town Manager for the Town of Prosper since February 2023. Previously, Mario was the City Manager for the City of Nacogdoches from August 2020 to February 2023 and held the positions of Deputy City Manager and Assistant City Manager for the City of Denton from May 2017 to August 2020. Earlier in their career, Mario served as Deputy City Manager for the City of Coppell and as Assistant City Manager for the Town of Addison. Mario holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Stephen F. Austin State University.
