Javier Collazo

Javier Collazo has a diverse and extensive work experience. Javier worked as a Senior Accountant at Marcum LLP from August 2003 to May 2005. Javier then joined the City of Hialeah Municipal Government, where they held positions such as Assistant Finance Director from May 2005 to May 2012, Finance Director from April 2012 to April 2016, and Assistant Public Works Director from April 2016 to July 2017. Javier then transitioned to Kurz Real Estate, Corp, where they worked as a Real Estate Agent from January 2018 to September 2022. Currently, they are employed as the Finance Manager at the Town of Surfside since January 2020 and was recently promoted to the role of Finance Director in September 2022.

Javier Collazo has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from the Florida International University - College of Business. Before that, they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from Miami Dade College. Javier'seducation journey started at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma. In addition to their formal education, Javier has also obtained a certification as a Real Estate Sales Associate from the State of Florida in October 2017.
