Bill Williams

Chief Judge, Municipal Court at Township of Livingston

Bill Williams has had a diverse and extensive work experience. In 1986, they worked as a General Partner at Williams & Giountikos, Esqs., where they handled various litigations and gained experience in contract and consumer litigations, personal injury matters, and more. Bill then served as the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Councilman for the Township Of Livingston from 1999 to 2002. Afterwards, they worked as an Assistant Township Attorney and Municipal Prosecutor for the same township from 2003 to 2005. Bill then joined Chase Manhatten Mortgage Corp as a Contract Attorney, before becoming the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel at JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A. in 2005. As an Assistant County Counsel at the Office of the Essex County Counsel, they worked briefly in 2011. In the same year, they also started their own law firm, William H. Williams Jr., Esq., as a Solo Practitioner/General Practice. Bill provided legal services until 2013, when they served as a Supreme Court Judge in New Jersey, handling fugitive matters as well as domestic violence and temporary restraining order cases. In 2012, they also worked as an Acting/Visiting Municipal Court Judge for Essex County. In 2012, they began working as the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court for Township Of Livingston, where they currently hold the position.

Bill Williams earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Rutgers University - Newark, which they attended from 1977 to 1981. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree at Seton Hall University School of Law, where they studied from 1981 to 1984. No specific field of study is provided for their J.D. degree.
