Saumil Desai

Saumil Desai has a diverse work experience in various roles related to information security and cyber security. Saumil is currently working as the Head of Cyber Security / CISO at Toyota Connected Europe from March 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Information Security Lead (HoS) at AND Digital from November 2021 to March 2023. Saumil also worked as an Information Security Engineer/Lead at LYTT from January 2020 to September 2021. Before that, they held the position of Senior Information Security Specialist at John Lewis Partnership from November 2018 to January 2020. Additionally, they worked as a Security Consultant at CGI from July 2018 to October 2018. Saumil Desai gained experience in information security in Cancer Research UK (CRUK), where they served as an Information Security Specialist from August 2017 to July 2018 and as an IT Security Analyst from July 2015 to July 2017. Saumil started their career as an Information Security FDM Consultant at FDM Group from March 2015 to July 2017. Saumil Desai also has a background in research, having worked as a Research Student at UCL from September 2010 to February 2015. Saumil began their professional career as an Audit Trainee at UHY Hacker Young from December 2008 to June 2009, and earlier gained experience as a Developer during a Summer Internship at Pinpoint Systems SL, UK from June 2007 to August 2007.

Saumil Desai has an extensive education history in various fields of study. Saumil began their academic journey at Sussex University from 2005 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering with Business Management.

Saumil then pursued further education at University College London, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications from 2009 to 2010. Following this, they completed a Master of Research degree in Security Science at the same institution from 2010 to 2011.

Saumil Desai's highest level of academic achievement is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, which they obtained from University College London in 2014. Their PhD focused on the field of Security Science.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Saumil Desai has also earned the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Services Management from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, in June 2015.
