Dr. Shankar Basu

Dr. Shankar Basu has extensive work experience in the automotive industry. Dr. Shankar served as the CEO of Toyota-Lift of Los Angeles from September 2009 until the present. Prior to that, they held the positions of Ex-chairman & CEO at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. and (ex) Chairman and CEO at Toyota Material Handling USA from 1981 until 2009.

Dr. Shankar Basu's education history begins in 1965 when they earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Dr. Shankar then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Engineering from the University of Minnesota, which they completed between 1970 and 1973. Following this, from 1973 to 1976, they attended the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management and obtained an MBA degree in Business and Strategic Management. Dr. Basu then continued their education at the Drucker School of Management, where they earned a Doctorate degree in Executive Management from 1985 to 1994. In 1999, they completed the Toyota Executive Development Program at The Wharton School.
