Yanxia Zhang

Yanxia Zhang is a Senior Machine Learning Research Scientist at Toyota Research Institute since August 2020 and serves as an Advisor at iFocus since January 2021. Previously, Zhang worked as a Research Scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory, contributing to 8 U.S. patents, and as a Researcher at TU Delft, where novel anomaly detection models were developed for IoT Sensor Data. Experience also includes designing a gaze interactive robotic system at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and conducting pioneering research in vision-based eye tracking at Lancaster University. Additional roles include a Research Intern at Microsoft Research Cambridge, developing interaction techniques for smart TVs, and a Research Intern at Philips Research focusing on multi-person tracking with video cameras. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from Lancaster University, a Master in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
