Ian McDonald

Ian McDonald has a long and varied work experience. Ian began their career in 2008 as a Chartered Accountant - CFO - Board Member & Advisor. In 2011, they took on a part-time role as Development Executive at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club, where they increased member numbers and revenues, and was responsible for the full upgrade of the club's website. In 2014, they became Group CFO at Nasc Technologies, and in 2015 they were appointed Head of Accounting, Tax and Advisory Services at A.B.B. (part of The Company Bureau). In 2017, they began providing part-time and interim CFO/FD/FC services for Chartered Accountant Interim Managers Ireland (CAIM). In 2018, they took on the role of Financial Coach at The Core Story. In 2020, they became CFO at Tracworx and Interim Group Finance Director at Clink Hostels, where they managed a network of privately owned backpacker hostels. Finally, in 2022, Ian became a Non Executive Director at Core Credit Union Ltd.

Ian McDonald obtained their Leaving Certificate from Blackrock College in 1987, followed by an MA (Econ.) from University College Dublin in 1991. Ian then went on to become a Chartered Accountant from Chartered Accountants Ireland in 1995. In 2012, they completed the Digital Marketing Executive Programme from The Marketing Institute of Ireland in Digital Marketing & Social Media. Most recently, they obtained a Diploma in Taxation from the Irish Tax Institute in 2019.
