Gernot Mittendorfer

Gernot Mittendorfer is the current Managing Director at Trade Republic. Gernot has over fifteen years of experience in the financial sector, holding various positions such as CEO and CFO.

Mittendorfer began their career in 2004 as the CEO of Salzburger Sparkasse Bank AG. In 2007, they became the CEO of Česká spořitelna and held that position until 2010. In 2011, they joined Erste Group Bank AG as their CFO and remained there until 2019. During their time at Erste Group Bank AG, Mittendorfer chaired their ALCO committee and was responsible for group accounting and controlling, purchasing, and investor relations. Gernot also served on various positions in group supervisory boards.

In 2019, Mittendorfer became the Managing Director at Trade Republic. Under their leadership, the company has seen significant growth and expansion.

Gernot Mittendorfer has an MBA from Webster Vienna Private University and a Magister in Recht from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. Gernot is also certified as an Internal Financial Coach from Koučink Centrum, s.r.o.

Gernot Mittendorfer reports to Christian Hecker, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Thomas Pischke - Co-Founder, Karsten Müller - Managing Director, Legal, and Jan Plasberg - VP, Engineering.
