Luis Ugalde Elizondo

Luis Ugalde Elizondo has a strong background in application security and technical support.

Luis is currently working as an AppSec Engineer at TradeStation, where they are responsible for ensuring the security of over 55 applications. Luis reviews and approves any changes or new deployments made to the applications.

Prior to their current role, Luis worked at Micro Focus for several years. Luis was part of the Fortify On Demand department, specifically in the DAST team. In this role, they conducted "Grey box" testing on web applications to identify security vulnerabilities. Luis used tools such as WebInspect, Burp Suite PRO, and POST MAN for both automatic and manual testing. Additionally, they provided technical support for HPE Fortify, assisting customers with using security products like Security Code Analyzer and WebInspect.

Before joining Micro Focus, Luis worked at CoopeMontecillos R.L as a System Analyst. Luis managed IT infrastructure, including networking, customer service, PC maintenance, IP telephony, and server management. Luis held this position for seven years before transitioning to their role at Micro Focus.

Luis Ugalde Elizondo completed their Bachillerato in Software Engineering at Universidad Técnica Nacional from 2011 to 2015. In 2017 to 2018, they pursued further education at Tecnológico de Costa Rica, specializing in Business Intelligence with a focus on Computer Programming and specific applications. In addition to their formal education, Luis Ugalde Elizondo obtained certifications such as the Administering and Using Fortify DAST Certified Specialist Exam from Micro Focus in January 2023 and the Administración Esquemas de Seguridad from SUGEF in May 2017.
