Stefan Bates

Stefan Bates has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Stefan started their career in 1995 as a Contract Programmer at CABLE & WIRELESS WORLDWIDE PLC. Stefan then worked at Citibank as an Analyst/Programmer, where they were responsible for converting a prototype implementation into a global deployment for cash management applications. Stefan also worked as a Senior Developer (Contract) at Realtime Financial Management Ltd, where they worked on the development of the Front Office Repo Trading distributed application (Martini).

In 1999, Stefan co-founded an Internet start-up business venture, where they worked as a Senior Web Developer. Stefan then joined Morgan Stanley as a Senior Internet Developer (Contract), where they developed an Internet-based trading platform. Stefan also worked at Citi as a Senior Java Developer (Contract), where they contributed to the development of CitiDirect, Citigroup's Internet Banking Product.

In 2002, Stefan returned to Realtime Financial Management Ltd as a Senior Developer (Contract), focusing on enhancing the Martini trading system for clients. Stefan also co-founded 1bitgames.co.uk, where they developed Java-based mobile phone games and secured contracts with distributors.

From 2004 to 2013, Stefan worked at SunGard in various roles, including Team Leader, Senior Developer, Development Manager (Apex), and Head of Development. In these roles, they were responsible for leading development teams, enhancing technical architecture, and managing the development of new products.

Since 2013, Stefan has been working at Trading Apps, initially as Head of Development and then as Chief Technology Officer. In these roles, they have played a crucial role in overseeing the development and technology aspects of the company.

Throughout their career, Stefan has demonstrated skills in various programming languages, technologies, and platforms, including Java, C++, J2EE, Visual Studio, AJAX, SQL, and more. Their extensive experience and leadership capabilities make him a highly accomplished professional in the technology industry.

Stefan Bates attended King Edward VII Community College from 1986 to 1988, where they studied Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. Following that, they pursued a Computer Science BSc (hons) degree at The University of Manchester from 1988 to 1991, achieving a 2i classification. In addition to their academic qualifications, Stefan Bates obtained certifications including an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services in July 2022 and a Sumo Logic Fundamentals Certified certification from Sumo Logic in March 2021.
