Graeme Hay, a CPA, CMA, and CFA, is currently serving as the Chief Investment Officer at Teachers' Retirement Allowances Fund since February 2013. In his role, Graeme is responsible for evolving the plan's overall investment strategy and investment policy framework, and leads the structuring and selection of investment managers across various programs. Prior to his current position, Graeme held roles at Wellington West Asset Management as an Investment Analyst, and at Great-West Life as a Senior Asset-Liability Management Analyst and Systems Analyst. Graeme holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Finance from the University of Manitoba.
Teachers' Retirement Allowances Fund
The Teachers' Retirement Allowances Fund (TRAF), established in 1925, is the pension plan for public school teachers and other eligible employees in the Province of Manitoba. MISSION STATEMENT: We commit ourselves to manage the funds entrusted to our care in a prudent and professional manner, and to provide caring and responsive service to members. TRAF collects contributions from members, manages the investments of the pension plan and provides retirement, termination and death benefits to members and their beneficiaries as outlined in The Teachers' Pensions Act. TRAF must also comply with the applicable sections of The Pension Benefits Act and the Income Tax Act (Canada). The Teachers' Retirement Allowances Fund is a defined benefit pension plan that is funded with member contributions, investment income and deposits from the Province of Manitoba.
