Eric Kilmer is a senior security engineer at Trail of Bits. Eric previously worked as an associate staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, summer intern at Symantec, and summer research intern at Army Research Laboratory.

Eric was tasked with conducting binary analysis to find features that persist across malware families and developing a tool to collect, group, and process these features to aid in attribution efforts.

At Army Research Laboratory, Eric was a summer research intern where they developed internal and public plugins for the Army's open-source network analysis tool, Dshell. Eric also tried to implement a network-oriented malware detection methodology into Dshell. Additionally, they performed a preliminary analysis on Linux malware with IDA Pro.

Eric Kilmer earned their Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Penn State University. Eric also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Penn State University.

Eric Kilmer reports to Alex Useche, Lead Security Engineer. They are on a team with Josh Hofing - Security Engineer, Artur Cygan - Security Engineer, and Spencer Michaels - Security Engineer.
