Jamie Wilkie, CFA, AFM

Jamie Wilkie, CFA, AFM has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. They started their career as a Senior Financial Analyst at Grizzly Oil Sands ULC in 2011. They then worked as a Director at UBS Investment Bank from December 2011 to September 2013. They subsequently joined Wells Fargo Securities as a Vice President of Investment Banking from September 2013 to May 2016. Following this, they held the position of Head of Alberta Operations at Copper Island Dock Systems (Alberta) Ltd. from March 2016 to February 2019.

In 2017, Jamie became self-employed as a Financial & Strategy Consultant, providing services to Calgary-area companies primarily in the Oil & Gas industry. They specialized in financial modeling, stakeholder communications strategies, and presentations. As part of their consultancy work, Jamie also served as Council Member for the Town of Turner Valley from April 2019 to October 2021, representing residents and focusing on accountability, sustainability, and consultation.

Continuing their ventures, Jamie served as a Principal at The Marquee Group from March 2019 to the present. The Marquee Group is renowned for providing financial modeling training, consulting, and accreditation, with a focus on developing user-friendly and best-in-class financial models. In 2021, Jamie took on the role of Freelance Writer at ENERGYminute, an organization dedicated to providing accurate and in-depth stories about energy, technology, and the environment.

In 2022, Jamie joined YouQuest Calgary as a Director and Treasurer. YouQuest aims to build community connections for individuals with young-onset dementia, applying therapeutic recreation models to address various needs.

Most recently, starting in April 2023, Jamie took on the role of Director of Specialized Products at Training The Street, where they are involved in specialized product development.

Throughout their career, Jamie has demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, investment banking, strategic consulting, stakeholder communications, and community involvement.

Jamie Wilkie, CFA, AFM completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at the University of Calgary from 2000 to 2004. Later in 2008, Jamie obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Society Calgary. In May 2021, Jamie obtained the Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) certification from the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI).
