João Barata

João Barata has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. João began their career in 1996 at Tranquilidade, where they held various roles, including Technical Manager, Head of Actuarial Department, and Intern. In 2006, they joined T-Vida as a Technical Manager and later became a Board Member. João also worked at Tranquilidade - Corporação Angolana de Seguros and Tranquilidade Moçambique e Tranquilidade Moçambique Vida as an Administrator. Recently, in 2020, they joined Generali as the Chief Insurance Officer and Close to Customers as an Administrator. Additionally, they served as a Board Member at Seguros LOGO, SA.

João Barata has a post-graduation degree in finance from the Nova School of Business and Economics, which they completed from 2002 to 2003. João also holds a master's degree in actuarial science from ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. In addition, João Barata obtained a licenciatura (bachelor's degree equivalent) in economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa between 1992 and 1996.
