Trans Lifeline
Mel Gilcrest is a dedicated mental health professional with a diverse background in counseling, case management, and support services for youth. Experience includes serving as Care Coordinator at Bay Area Community Services, where Mel provided counseling and case management for youth in the Full Service Partnership program. Previously, Mel worked as an Engagement Counselor at Larkin Street Youth Services, facilitating group support for homeless youth, and as a Peer Mentor at Tri City Mental Health Services, providing individualized mentoring and specialized training in mental health. Early career experiences include roles as an Assistant Librarian at Ella Strong Denison Library and as Editor in Chief of The Scripps Voice, where Mel managed content creation and design. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies, Mel holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Scripps College.
