Jim Matheson

Jim Matheson is currently a Business Advisor at Transaera. Prior to that, they were with Breakthrough Energy Ventures, The Engine, Patriapps Software Venture Studio, and Seth Moulton for America. Jim has also been with Fuzzy, Inc., New Politics, and Oasys Water.

Jim Matheson started their professional career with the US Navy in 1983 and served until 2008 when they retired as a Commander. Jim then became a General Partner & Venture Partner at Flagship Pioneering in January 2000 and served there until May 2018. In September 2008, they joined Oasys Water as Chairman, President & CEO. Jim remained with Oasys Water until its sale to an Asian partner in May 2018.

Jim Matheson has had a long and varied career in both the military and in business. Jim is currently using their skills and experience as a Business Advisor at Transaera.

Jim Matheson has a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
