Martin van Huyssteen

Martin van Huyssteen is an accomplished engineering and project management professional with extensive experience at TransAlta since November 1998, currently serving as Director of Projects & Construction. Responsibilities include strategic and operational leadership in delivering new growth assets, overseeing a portfolio of construction projects, and fulfilling the Project Director role for large-scale initiatives. Previous roles at TransAlta encompass managerial positions in engineering, operations services, supply chain management, and asset planning, contributing to the successful execution of capital projects and the governance of core operational services. Prior to TransAlta, Martin held various engineering roles at Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, including Turbine Plant Manager at Duvha Power Station. Martin holds a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
