Iris Nkamba

Head of Alliance Management at TransCure bioServices

Iris Nkamba has a diverse work experience, starting with a two-month internship at the INRA French National Institute for Agricultural Research in 2014. This internship involved conducting a kinetic study of the humoral response to an intestinal parasite in Creole goats, utilizing ELISA and statistical analysis with R.

In the same year, Iris had a six-month internship at the University of Adelaide, where they participated in a clinical study on the impact of lysine on glycemia, food intake, and digestive functions in humans. Their responsibilities included patient monitoring, intragastric administration of test solutions, and sample and data collection. Iris also contributed as the third author in a peer-reviewed publication related to this study.

In 2015, Iris completed a six-month internship at UC Davis, gaining valuable experience during this time.

From 2016 to 2019, Iris worked at the Imagine Institute of Genetic Diseases, where they pursued a PhD in mucosal immunology/microbiology. Their research focused on studying the interactions between Segmented Filamentous Bacteria (SFB) of the microbiota and intestinal cells to understand how SFB stimulate the mucosal immune system. Notably, Iris was the first author of a publication in Nature Microbiology, with an impact factor of 14.

Starting in 2020, Iris joined TransCure bioServices, initially as a preclinical project leader. In this role, Iris supervised preclinical studies on novel immunotherapies in humanized mice with a full human immune system, specifically in the fields of immunology, immuno-oncology, and infectious diseases. Their responsibilities included project design and management, protocol redaction, tight schedule management, technical expertise, troubleshooting, and coordinating with various collaborators.

In 2023, Iris transitioned to the role of Preclinical Alliance Manager at TransCure bioServices, where they managed alliances related to preclinical projects. Finally, Iris currently holds the position of Head of Alliance Management at TransCure bioServices.

Iris Nkamba has a diverse educational background. Iris obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Immunology from Université Paris Cité, where they studied from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2016, they pursued an Engineer's degree in Biology, General at AgroParisTech. In 2015 and 2016, Iris also completed a Master 2 (M2) program in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Pierre and Marie Curie University. Iris started their academic journey at Lycée Saint Louis, where they studied from 2010 to 2012 in the BCPST Preparatory class to the "Grandes Ecoles" and successfully passed the national competitive exam. Iris completed their high school education at Lycée Faustin Fléret in Guadeloupe, French West Indies, from 2007 to 2010.

In addition to their degrees, Iris Nkamba has obtained accreditation in Animal Experiments Design and Performance ("Concepteur, Niveau 1") from Université Paris Diderot Descartes in September 2017.
