Bala Tharmalingam

Bala Tharmalingam, P.Eng. is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in project and contract management across the transportation sector. Currently serving as Project Director at Transdev Canada, Bala focuses on contract and commercial management, design and compliance, and risk management. Previously, as Project Manager at Plan Group Inc., Bala implemented various civil and electrical transportation projects, including Metrolinx TVM Civil Works and TTC CFIS. Bala has also held managerial roles at Alstom and BOMBARDIER, overseeing operations and maintenance for the Eglinton Crosstown Line, and led significant AME services projects that resulted in substantial savings and additional sales. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University and experience in supply chain analysis and mechanical design, Bala has developed a comprehensive skill set within the engineering field.
