Dr. Hamood Al Kharusi has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Dr. Hamood currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Transformation Pioneers, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Petroleum Development Oman for over a decade, starting in 2008. At Petroleum Development Oman, Dr. Al Kharusi held several roles including Information Management Transformation Lead, IM&T Sr. Strategy and Planning - SAP and Surface, IT Portfolio Manager (Business Alignment), and Sr. Subsurface Systems Engineer. Dr. Hamood played key roles in developing and managing IT strategies, business plans, and program delivery. Additionally, they have experience as a Journal Reviewer at the Journal of Digital Strategy, Governance, and Business Transformation and as an ELS Engineer at Ericsson.
Dr. Hamood Al Kharusi completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems and Networks Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in 2006. Dr. Hamood then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on IT from Coventry University between 2008 and 2010. In 2015, Dr. Al Kharusi pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management Information Systems from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, which they completed in 2018. Additionally, they hold multiple certifications, including Prosci Certified Change Management Practitioner, TOGAF 9 Certification, Business Analysis Associate Certificate from George Washington University in association with ESI, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 Foundation, CCNA, and Microsoft Certified Professional.
