Alan Davenport

Alan Davenport is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in power systems and HVDC technology. Currently serving as a Power System Development Engineer at Transmission Investment since September 2022, Alan leads technical discussions with OEM contractors and produces technical specifications and employer requirements. Prior to this, Alan held the position of HVDC Electrical Engineer at SSE Renewables, where responsibilities included serving as the HVDC Package Technical Lead for the Dogger Bank C Project. Alan's earlier tenure at SP Energy Networks included roles as Senior Design Engineer and Project Engineer, focusing on transmission projects and network protection systems. Alan holds a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
