Ian Laird

Ian Laird is a seasoned professional in the offshore drilling industry with extensive experience spanning from 1986 to the present. Currently, Ian serves as Senior Manager for Corporate Technical Field Support at Transocean, overseeing technical support teams for offshore Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs) in ultra-deepwater and harsh environments. Previous roles at Transocean include Senior Manager for Technical Assurance and Asset Manager for a 7th Generation Drill Ship project in Korea. Before joining Transocean, Ian worked as a Technical Leader at Seadrill and held various positions at Global Santa Fe, where responsibilities included asset management and maintenance support. Ian's career began as an Industrial Electrician at Imperial Chemical Industries, supported by an electrical apprenticeship. Ian's educational background includes studies at Kilmarnock Technical College and Ardrossan Academy.
