Alessandro Gianesini

Head Of Finance at Transparency International

Alessandro Gianesini has a diverse work experience in the finance and auditing field. Alessandro started their career at KPMG in 2004 as an Audit supervising senior, where they gained experience in IFRS and ITA-GAAP audits and also worked on due diligence engagements. Alessandro then became a Senior Associate at KPMG in 2009, where they were deployed in the US and gained international exposure and technical skills in SOx audit and US GAAP. In 2011, they briefly served as an Audit manager at KPMG.

In 2012, Alessandro joined Transparency International as a Project accountant and later transitioned to the role of Project Controller in 2014. Alessandro then became the Chief Accountant in 2015, leading the finance team and overhauling the financial reporting under IFRS. In 2018, they took on the role of Head of International Operations (interim) where they established a large team and restructured project management routines, significantly improving efficiency-related KPIs. Currently, Alessandro serves as the Head of Finance at Transparency International, where they lead financial decision-making and maintains all financial processes.

Alessandro Gianesini has a diverse education history. Alessandro first attended Liceo Classico from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a diploma in classic languages, philosophy, and Italian literature. After that, they enrolled in Università Ca' Foscari Venezia from 1998 to 2003, completing their Laurea degree in international economics and business law. Later, in 2011 and 2012, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for their Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Development Management. Additionally, Alessandro Gianesini holds a certification as a Chartered Accountant from ACCA, although the exact date of its completion is not provided.
