Anil Kumar

Principal Engineer at Transport for London

Anil Kumar has a vast work experience in the field of engineering, particularly in the area of structures and bridges. Anil started their career in 1997 as a Bridge Engineer at Arup Jururunding Sdn Bhd and then worked as a Senior Bridge Engineer at Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick India Private Limited from 1998 to 2000. Anil then joined ICT Pvt Limited as a General Manager (Bridges) from 2000 to 2001. Anil then worked as a Senior Engineer at Hyder Consulting from 2001 to 2004. Anil then joined Atkins as a Principal Engineer / Group Engineer from 2004 to 2009.

Since 2009, Anil has been working at Transport for London, where they currently hold the position of Principal Engineer. In this role, they serve as the Lead Technical Authority on Surface and Highway Structures and also acts as a subject matter expert on the Silvertown Tunnel project. Anil has also played key roles as the Technical Approvals Manager for various projects within the Structures and Tunnel Investment Portfolio at Transport for London, where they have been responsible for technical approvals and quality assurance for the design and construction of several road-over-rail bridges and the refurbishment of important infrastructure.

Anil Kumar has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Cardiff Metropolitan University, which they obtained from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Structural Engineering from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, ending in 1990. Anil also has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Civil Engineering from Doctor Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, which they completed from 1982 to 1987. In terms of additional certifications, they are a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE), a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers (FIStructE), and a Chartered Engineer, all obtained at various points in their career.
