James Cooper

James Cooper is an experienced professional in the rail sector, currently serving as the Head of Workforce Planning and Operational Training at Transport for Wales Rail/Trafnidiaeth Cymru Gwasanaethau Trên since February 2016. In this role, James has contributed to customer delivery improvement initiatives and provided strategic insights during the Covid-19 pandemic. Previously, as Project Interface Manager, James successfully led the re-signalling projects for Port Talbot West and the North Wales Coast from 2017 to 2019. Prior to joining Transport for Wales, James worked at Great Western Railway from September 2010 to February 2016 in various roles, including Network Access Manager and Revenue and Capacity Analyst, focusing on contract management and revenue enhancement. James holds a Master of Science in Business Management and a Master's in Economics, both from Swansea University.
