Head Of Research And Standards at Transport Infrastructure Ireland

Albert Daly has a diverse work experience in the field of transportation and infrastructure. Albert began their career as a Post-doctoral Fellow at NUI Galway, where they set up a Wind Tunnel Laboratory and taught Mechanics of Materials to undergraduate students. Albert then worked at TRL Limited as a Senior Technical Manager and Research Fellow for almost two decades. During this time, they gained expertise in various aspects of transport research. In 2007, they joined the National Roads Authority as the Head of Research and Standards, where they played a key role in developing standards and specifications for road and bridge design. Albert continued their work in a similar role when the National Roads Authority merged with Transport Infrastructure Ireland in 2015. Throughout their career, Albert Daly has demonstrated a strong dedication to research and the development of technical documents to enhance the Irish National Road system.

Albert Daly attended the University of Galway from 1975 to 1979, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Civil Engineering. Albert then pursued further education at the same university from 1980 to 1981, earning a Master of Engineering Science (MEngSc) degree in Wind Engineering. Following this, from 1981 to 1985, Daly attended Western University, where they obtained a PhD in Wind Engineering with a focus on aerodynamics.
