Martin Staples

Martin Staples has held a variety of executive and managerial roles in the manufacturing industry since 1997. Martin began their career at Emerson Motor Company, where they served as General Manager of DEAS, Director of Material Performance, Director of Advanced Manufacturing, and Plant Manager of Slovakia. In 2006, they moved to Emerson Climate Technologies as Vice President of Operations, where they restructured the manufacturing organization and processes to focus on lean improvements. In 2009, they joined Emerson Network Power as Vice President of Operational Development and Vice President of Shared Services ENP EMEA, and was tasked with integrating the Chloride acquisition with Network Power's back offices into a central shared service. From 2013 to 2016, they were Vice President of Manufacturing InSinkerator at Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions, where they were responsible for planning and executing the restructuring of the manufacturing process while improving on-time delivery and profitability. In 2017, they became an Investor at Golden Angels Investors. From 2019 to 2021, they held the roles of President of Staples Consultants LLC, Consultant at The ProAction Group, and Board Member at Transportant. Currently, they are the Chief Executive Officer of Transportant, where they are making the school bus as smart as a phone.

Martin Staples obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General and an MBA in Operations from Washington University in St. Louis between 1989 and 1992. Martin also obtained a BS MS in Geology from Missouri University of Science and Technology between 1975 and 1982. Additionally, they obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Missouri University of Science and Technology. Martin Staples has also obtained various certifications from institutions such as Coursera, The Leadership Network, Lean Enterprise Institute, DBM Systems Inc, and Emerson, including Machine Learning for Business Professionals, Leading the Toyota Way, Gemba Training, Inventory Accuracy Training, Perfect Execution (Lean/Operational Excellence) training, Communicative Manager, Demand Driven Supply Chain training, Emerson Leadership Training, Master Scheduling Training, Sales and Operational Planning training, Material Planning and Inventory Control, Six Sigma Sponsor Training, Lean Manufacturing Sponsor Training, and Project Management Training.
