Dr. Mike Horton

Dr. Mike Horton currently serves as the Acting Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where responsibilities include coordinating the use of AI, promoting innovation, and managing associated risks. Previously, Dr. Horton held the role of Deputy Chief Data Officer, supervising non-geospatial divisions to enhance data analytics and governance. Additional experience includes leadership positions at the Federal Aviation Administration and teaching roles at George Mason University and Saint Joseph's University. Dr. Horton holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and multiple master's degrees, including expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
