Gary M. Baker

Gary M. Baker has over 25 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), currently serving as the Geographic Information Systems Team Lead at the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center since September 1996. Previously, as an Operations Research Analyst and GIS Specialist at the Federal Railroad Administration, Gary Baker spearheaded the modernization and expansion of geospatial technologies within the agency. Earlier experience includes a position as a GIS Specialist and intern at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, where skills in Arc/Info and the Arc/Info Macro Language were applied to analyze the water distribution network. Educational credentials include a Master's Degree in Software Engineering from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from UMass Boston.
