Stephen Misczuk

Stephen Misczuk has extensive experience in transportation safety and security, currently serving as the Acting Director of Safety Investigations and Transportation Safety & Security Manager at Sound Transit since August 2015. Additionally, Misczuk is an Associate Instructor for the U.S. Department of Transportation's Transportation Safety Institute, teaching Rail System Safety and Rail Incident Investigation courses since June 2016. Previous roles include Safety Certification Manager at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) from May 2012 to August 2015, and Safety & Security Coordinator for the Charlotte Area Transit System from June 2007 to May 2012. Earlier experience includes serving as a Security Supervisor at Security Services of America and as a Marine Corps Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, specializing in aviation operations and ground safety management. Misczuk holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from East Carolina University and multiple certifications in transportation safety and security from the United States Department of Transportation and the World Safety Organization.
