Rommel R. is an experienced power systems engineering professional with a career spanning over 17 years. Currently serving as the Power Systems Engineering Manager and previously as a Senior Power Systems Engineer at Transpower New Zealand since November 2018, Rommel R. specializes in time domain simulations, dynamic modeling, and event investigations, while maintaining online power system tools. Before joining Transpower, Rommel R. held several significant positions at the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, including Transmission Planning Research Supervisor and Principal Engineer, focusing on research, technical studies, and renewable energy integration. Rommel R.'s earlier experience includes roles at Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation and MERALCO, where responsibilities encompassed asset management, operational planning, and distribution engineering. Rommel R. holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems from the University of the Philippines and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Mapúa University.
