Johnathan Choe

Jonathan Choe has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the banking and financial industry. Johnathan started their career at Wells Fargo Bank in 1990, where they served as a Market President & Senior Vice President responsible for 50 branches and 600 team members. During their time at Wells Fargo, they exceeded sales, service, and financial expectations, successfully opened multiple DeNovo branches, and initiated various Asian Community Involvement initiatives for the LA Metro Region.

After leaving Wells Fargo in 2005, Jonathan Choe joined Fifth Third Bank as the Head of Retail Banking/EVP. In this role, they expanded the network of branches and grew the overall profitability of a multi-state branch network. Johnathan played a key role in developing and piloting the Preferred Banking Program, which aimed to retain, grow, and acquire retail clients with up to $1.0 million in income-producing assets.

Following their tenure at Fifth Third Bank, Jonathan Choe joined Santa Barbara Bank & Trust in 2011 as EVP and Community Banking Executive. Johnathan was responsible for all facets of the Community Bank, including strategy, execution, new product development, and deposit growth strategies. Under their leadership, they created a sales and service culture, transformed the retail business process, and implemented partner referral programs across lines of businesses.

Jonathan Choe then held executive roles at Bank of the Cascades and American Savings Bank before becoming a self-employed consultant in 2017. In 2018, they joined Solarity Credit Union as the Chief Lending Officer, where they served until 2019.

Currently, Jonathan Choe is the President & Lead Business Broker at Transworld Business Advisors, a position they have held since September 2019.

Johnathan Choe completed their undergraduate education from 1984 to 1989 at the University of California, Davis. Johnathan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial & Agricultural Economics during this time. Their further educational attainment occurred from 1999 to 2001 at the University of Virginia. There, they pursued a degree in Retail Bank Management from the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management.
