Tayler Engel

Data Processing Manager - Lead UAS Pilot at TranSystems

Tayler Engel has a diverse work experience in the field of geospatial data and drone piloting. They started their career as a GIS Technician at the Spatial Analysis Laboratory in 2010, where they were involved in quality control and editing of geospatial data sets. They also developed standard operating procedures for workflow automation. In 2012, Tayler worked as a LiDAR Analyst at URMC, where they automated the classification process for LiDAR data and performed QA/QC of classified data.

In 2013, Tayler worked as a Wildlife Biology Field Technician at Stantec, gaining experience in fieldwork. They then returned to the Spatial Analysis Laboratory as a GIS Specialist and Lead Drone Pilot. During this time, Tayler managed large geospatial projects, conducted feature identification from aerial and satellite imagery, and developed standard operating procedures.

In 2018, Tayler joined ARE Corporation as a Lead GIS Specialist and Drone Pilot. They were promoted to the role of Manager of the Geospatial Data Team in 2022, where they were responsible for overseeing the team's operations. They joined TranSystems in 2023 as the Data Processing Manager and Lead UAS Pilot.

Throughout their career, Tayler has demonstrated proficiency in geospatial data analysis, drone piloting, workflow automation, and project management.

Tayler Engel attended Saint Michael's College from 2007 to 2008, but did not earn a degree or specialize in a particular field of study during this time. From 2008 to 2011, Tayler attended the University of Vermont and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography. In September 2016, Tayler obtained a certification as a Remote Pilot sUAS Airman from the Federal Aviation Administration.
