Laura Chadwick

Laura Chadwick, MPA has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Laura is currently the President & CEO of The Travel Technology Association, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, Laura served as the Vice President, Industry Relations at XR Association from April 2020 to September 2022. Laura played a pivotal role in establishing the industry relations/membership department and developing strategies to position XRA as a leading organization in the immersive industry.

Laura also has political experience, having worked as a Volunteer for Biden for President from February 2020 to November 2020. Laura actively contributed to public policy development and volunteered in the Iowa Democratic Caucuses.

Before their political involvement, Laura held leadership positions at the National Restaurant Association. Laura served as the Director, Corporate Member Engagement, Strategy & Communications from June 2018 to April 2020, where they focused on strengthening government affairs and engaging corporate members. Prior to this role, Laura was the Director, Public Policy - Technology & Innovation at the same organization from 2014 to 2018. Laura led advocacy campaigns, developed policy positions, and successfully defended critical digital payment protection laws.

Laura's career also includes a role at the Consumer Technology Association, where they served as Senior Manager, Government Affairs from 2009 to 2014. Laura advised members on various technology-related issues, directed legislative outreach efforts, and organized events to showcase the impact of technology on Capitol Hill.

Early in their career, Laura gained valuable experience working in the U.S. House of Representatives. Laura served as a Legislative Assistant and Director of Operations for Congressman Mike Thompson, focusing on labor, transportation, technology, and sustainability policy. Additionally, they worked as a Scheduler and Executive Assistant for Congressman Adam Schiff.

Laura Chadwick, MPA completed their Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree at American University from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in American Government and Politics (United States) from Washington and Lee University, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, Laura Chadwick has obtained certifications in Cybersecurity Fundamentals from ISACA, and The Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US) from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
