Angus Muir has extensive experience in the insurance and software industries. Angus started their career in 1992 as a Project Engineer at Computing Devices Canada, working on a large defense contract. Angus then moved on to SXC, a software vendor, where they became the Director of System Implementation. Muir successfully completed an important implementation project and helped generate new revenues for the company. Angus then joined Castek Software Inc. as a Project Manager, assisting the organization with its transition to a product-based, multi-customer model. Unfortunately, the company faced challenges and had to downsize significantly. Muir then worked at SunGard Sherwood Systems as the VP of Implementations, overseeing multiple large-scale insurance solution implementations. Angus later joined Allstate Insurance Company of Canada as the Director of Policy Systems, introducing new disciplines and overseeing all development work. Finally, they joined Travelers Insurance Company of Canada as the Senior Director of Application Delivery, leading a major project and expanding their role to have oversight across multiple core systems.
Angus Muir attended Queen's University from 1987 to 1992, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
