Timothy Ion

Timothy Ion has over 14 years of work experience in the insurance industry. Timothy started their career at The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company, where they held various roles as an underwriter and manager in commercial lines. In 2013, they joined Travelers Canada as an Underwriting Manager in Business Insurance, eventually progressing to senior leadership positions. Timothy has experience in underwriting strategy, execution, and analytics, as well as product and platform management. In their most recent role at Travelers Canada, they served as the Assistant Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer for Small Commercial, overseeing the underwriting strategy and operations for this segment.

Timothy Ion has a diverse education history. Timothy attended Wilfrid Laurier University from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a B.B.A. degree and majored in Finance with a minor in Philosophy. In 2009, they enrolled in The Insurance Institute of Canada and completed the FCIP program, focusing on Risk Management. During the same year, they also attended The Risk and Insurance Management Society to obtain the CRM certification in Canadian Risk Management. In 2018, Timothy acquired two additional certifications: SAFe® 4 Certified Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. and CRM Designation from GRMI.
