Previously, Rita operated as the owner of Wishes For Girls from May 2005 to June 2007 and worked as a Photo Editor for The Improper Bostonian magazine from August 1998 to November 2004. Rita holds a Graduate degree in Photojournalism from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Tulane University.
