Huw Owen

Huw Owen has extensive experience in the tourism industry. Huw started their career in 2003 as a Regional Manager at Audley Travel. In 2008, they moved to Hanuman where they served as Commercial Director and was responsible for overall management of the company, increasing revenue, managing IT, Sales, Operations, Product, Ticketing Departments, and capacity building of staff. In 2009, they became a Consultant at the European Centre for Eco Agro Tourism (ECEAT) and at the Aga Khan Development Network. In 2011 and 2012, they were a Consultant at the UNWTO World Tourism Organization, providing consultancy services for two different projects. From 2014 to the present, they have been a Consultant at the UNWTO World Tourism Organization, helping to develop inclusive markets in tourism in Uganda. Finally, in 2012, they became a Co-Founder of TravelLocal, which is focused on bespoke travel and helping customers create holidays their way.

Huw Owen attended Lancaster University from 1997 to 2000.
