Alberto Maldonado

Alberto Maldonado has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Alberto started their career as a Software Developer Intern at Ministerio de Educación Cultura y Deporte in 2012, followed by a Development Internship at Safelayer Secure Communications, where they gained experience in PaaS security applications and backend development with Node.js. Alberto then worked as a Full Stack JavaScript Developer at Urge IO, developing a company comparison engine.

In 2014, Alberto joined Erasmus Student Network Spain as a Webmaster, where they were responsible for managing the website and implementing a social media communication strategy. Alberto also played a key role in migrating IT services to a centralized VPS.

From 2014 to 2017, Alberto worked at Scytl Secure Electronic Voting as a Frontend Engineer, developing solutions for eVoting projects using AngularJS.

Alberto's most recent work experience has been at TravelPerk, where they have held multiple roles since 2017. Alberto started as a Senior Software Engineer, working with Python, Django, React, Terraform, and AWS to build a business travel platform. Alberto then progressed to roles including Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Tribe Engineering Lead for the Planners tribe, and currently, as a Tribe Engineering Lead for the Foundations tribe, where they help set goals, fosters collaboration between teams, and ensures the successful achievement of objectives.

Alberto Maldonado obtained a degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Networks from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where they studied from 2005 to 2012. Alberto also attended Technische Universität Wien from 2009 to 2010, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science with a focus on Cloud Services and Grid Computing. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications including Mathematics for Machine Learning, Deep Learning Specialization, Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach, and Applied Data Science with Python Specialization from Coursera. Alberto also completed the M101P: MongoDB for Developers course and the Accelerating Through Angular 2 course from Code School.
