Brigid Shea has extensive experience in environmental policy and community engagement, currently serving as the Travis County Commissioner for Precinct 2 since January 2015. Shea has successfully campaigned for climate action, leading initiatives that earned three national awards for climate resilience, including the development of a Climate Action Plan and the implementation of innovative programs to mitigate climate-related disasters. Prior to this role, Shea founded Brigid Shea & Associates, providing strategic policy guidance and community outreach from 1999 to 2015. Other notable positions include co-founding Carbon Shrinks, advising the Austin Clean Water Program, and serving as an Austin City Councilwoman. Shea also has a background in grassroots environmental organizing, having directed the Save Our Springs Coalition and held leadership roles in organizations like Clean Water Action and SANE/Freeze. Education credentials include studies at Yale Divinity School and a degree from the College of Saint Benedict.
